Dr. Moon and Dr. Light conducted various bank robberies with no resistance after tricking four of the five Teen Titans into getting second jobs. They used the stolen money to fund the completion of their invention, the Nightlight. The Titans were clued in by a crime alert and confronted the villains outside their clinic. Light activated the Nightlight, looking like a giant crescent moon, and its brainwashing beams forced everyone on the planet to take up second jobs and create the strongest economy in the world but controlled by them. An economic bubble grew above their clinic. The Titans charged the Nightlight but Moon wrote a prescription for a roundhouse kick. Light swung Moon around and he roundhouse kicked the Titans. Robin got an idea and threw his Birdarang at the bubble instead of trying to shut down the Nightlight. The bubble burst and the remnants formed into a Recession monster.
