Legion of Superheroes

It included the peaceful alliance of 12 planets and was founded by the industrialist/ philanthropist, R.J. Brande. Brande, of Earth, owns a corporation that made it possible for interplanetary travel via devices called stargates. When Brande visited the planet Titan, an assassination attempt was made on him in order to influence the breaking of the United Planets' alliance. However, the attempt failed when three young strangers, each from different planets (Rokk Krinn of Braal, Imra Ardeen of Titan and Garth Ranzz of Winath) saved Brande's life. Brande was then inspired to found a group called the Legion of Superheroes. Homage to Earth's legendary Justice League, the Legion is based on Earth in the city of Metropolis.
Representatives from almost every member of the United Planets joined the Legion. Since then, the Legion has fought numerous threats such as terrorists to universal evils. Much like the Justice League, the Legion of Superheroes has access to the best that technology has to offer. This includes medical advances that are capable of prolonging one's age. In the 31st Century, age has expanded so far, that when someone is in their 30's-40's, it is still considered young.
Brainiac attempted to go back in time and kill Clark Kent before he became Superman. The Legion became aware of this after Brainiac stole their technology. A small unit consisting of Imra Ardeen (now, Saturn Girl), Rokk Krinn (Cosmic Boy) and Chameleon traveled to 1979 to stop Brainiac. In the aftermath, Brainiac was destroyed and Kent knew of his future legacy. Saturn Girl rectified the situation by erasing this chain of events from Kent's memory. The unit since then returned to their proper time.
Recently, the Legion of Superheroes moved into a new headquarters, only to be attacked by the Fatal Five. Emerald Empress used psionic devices to render most of the Legion under her control. Brainiac 5 and Bouncing Boy were able to escape to their previous headquarters and activated a time bubble to transport three superheroes from the past. Green Arrow, Green Lantern and Supergirl arrived soon after. Brainaic 5 attempted to track his fellow Legionnaires through their Legion Flight Rings, but the carrier waves were being masked. A stroke of luck surfaced when the Fatal Five took in Green Lantern. With the JLU comm links in mind, Supergirl and Brainiac 5 rigged up a quantum RF tracker. Together with Green Arrow,the two intercepted the Fatal Five at the United Planets' capital. Green Arrow successfully destroyed the wave source and freed the Legion and Green Lantern from their hypnosis. Supergirl decided to stay in the future with her romantic interest,Brainiac 5.
