Acronyms

DCAU

The DCAU stands for the DC Animated Universe, in most cases series from the modern age (1990's and on). For the sake of continuity, DCAUResource.com recognizes the DCAU as one animated universe that contains several smaller universes (multiverses, in fanboy speak). The multiverse featured on DCAUResource.com is the one which holds Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond, The Zeta Project, Justice League, Static Shock and Justice League Unlimited in continuity with each other. This universe is often referred to as the "Timmverse," named after one of the main producers of the series (except Static Shock and Zeta Project), Bruce Timm. So far there are about four other multiverses: Teen Titans, Krypto, The Batman and Legion of Superheroes; respectively. There are also several stand alone universes that represent a new trend of Direct to Video movies such as Superman: Brainiac Attacks (based on the Richard Donner movies) and the two upcoming films: Superman: Doomsday and the New Frontier.
